I am not sure if I got a bad batch or if this is the norm around here but I got about $2500 worth of 3/4 crushed road base delivered for a new gravel driveway last year. We removed the top soil and laid around a 4-6" layer of this road base. However no matter how much we wet it and compact it this stuff will not get hard. The company I had spread it and do the initial compaction even said the 3/4" road base that they usually get was much less coarse than this stuff and compacted hard as concrete.
