After surgery for a hip fracture I was admitted to Park Place of Elmhurst for recovery and rehab. The staff was so helpful and encouraging. Everyone from those who helped me personally, to the nurses who brought medicine, to those who helped with meals and cleaned my room were kind, patient, and supportive. My mother was a resident at Park Place. Most of the caregivers and staff were excellent. However, there was a small group of care techs who were rude, manipulative and abusive. 3 of them cornered my mom in her bathroom at bedtime, and aggressively told her that she had to get herself off the toilet when she was not cleared to do that by Physical Therapy (she was recovering from a stroke). I’m so fortunate that my mom lives at Park Place! The staff are very caring, everyone knows her by name. When she had a couple of minor medical situations, the follow through by everyone from the nurse to the dining facilities manager gave me confidence that she’s in the right spot. The residents are lovely, kind people and the building is quite beautiful.
