Shugart is very unresponsive, they only want to sell you a home and do not care what happens after you make the purchase. They will tell you exactly what you want to hear and then once the paper is signed things start the change. We still have a huge mud pit in the front of our neighborhood that they said they would make a lake. avoid At all cost. The house is fine but the office staff are incompetent. We were told we would have a lake, park, and waking trails in our neighborhood and now they are trying to get out of putting any of it up. We have called the office many times but are just passed around from person to person, and never receive calls back. It is irritating to have to seek legal action for a company to hold up its end of the bargain but that’s where we are with Shugart at the moment.

Do the job right the first time. Much of the work done as our house was being built had to be redone because the subcontractors did such a poor job the first time. We really don't feel like we have a quality built home. Also, Shugart needs to move to a more customer friendly business model. Our contact with many Shugart employees ends on a negative note because they just don't seem to care and they make us feel like we are bothering them.
