Dr. DeLaCruz saw me as an inpatient at St. Alexius after I had emergency exploratory surgery post hysterectomy for concern of internal bleeding. I was in absolute excruciating uncountable pain. I had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a medical facility. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was being treated like a burden rather than a patient. The medical assistant was extremely unprofessional and rude. She looked visibly irritated and tired—which I understand, long shifts happen—but that’s not an excuse to take it out on patients. Horrible, horrible, horrible experience! I’m never ever coming to the Hoffman Estates location again! If I could give a negative star I would’ve. As a person who works in healthcare myself this experience was totally unacceptable & she should be reprimanded! I relocated from New York to Illinois. I met Dr. De La Cruz for the first time a few weeks ago, and she is amazing. She is kind, gentle, and I feel very comfortable around her. She just makes my visits pleasant and easy.
