This was a great location and we loved exploring the nearby beaches, watching the sunset and swimming in the pool. All units have fantastic wraparound lanais that are screened in so you can leave the doors wide open and get a breeze through. The gardens and trees are beautiful and provide a lot of shade.
While in a lovely sunset view setting, the facilities leave a lot to be improved upon. For example, none of the condos have A/C or insulation, so the southwest facing dark shingles soaked up heat and made the condo unbearably hot during the September afternoons. We should have realized this was an issue when we had to count the number of fans in the smallish studio (7!)... This facility and the older and far more decrepit one next to it are in a sad state. Condos are relatively nice, especially if recently renovated. Groundskeepers and staff are usually pretty friendly and helpful. The pool is nice and well kept. The beach is just a short walk aways with nice views.
This is the place to stay on Molokai... the condo complex shows its age but the grounds are well maintained... its pretty quiet and it is a 30 minute drive to town for groceries.. there is a small general store in nearby Mauna Loa for needed items... the surf is incredible in the winter when the swells hit the beach... nice whale watching... very laid back with a lovely get away from it all feel... if you are a resort person, golfer or 5 star restaurant type Molokai is not for you... it is "real" Hawaii... read, lay on the b... read more
