I used to think McDonalds was the worst in terms of overselling their food but Panera claims that top spot. Take a look at the bacon egg and cheese on ciabatta on their website and the look at the picture below. It was Panera or McDonald’s and I choose incorrectly. Their food taste ok (bread is actually dry) but price to value is not there. I gave them 2 stars and that was generous.
My family and I arrived at 8:30 PM, knowing the restaurant closed at 9:00 PM. While we were being helped, the manager came over and yelled at the employee assisting us, saying the restaurant was closed. The way the situation was handled was extremely rude and unprofessional. I've tried their French Onion soup and it was delicious, the girl at the counter was super friendly and helpful, she offered fan favorite sandwich with meat, and it went well with onion soup, everything was fresh as they advertise. My kids love Panera and I should visit them more often.
Placed an online order for drive-thru pickup and arrived at the window at 4:32 PM on May 7th. The employee opened the window and stared at me like I had just interrupted her life's most important moment and hit me with a very enthusiastic "yes?" No hi, no hello, no "how can I help you" — just a blank stare and one word. Truly a masterclass in customer service.
