I used to really like Panera’s scones. I just now ate one today. It said orange scone. The only orange was the color & flavoring of the big amount of frosting on it. Scones are traditionally a bit dense & on the dry side. This scone fell apart like a moist fluffy cake. Too much butter & egg? Why has the recipe changed? I’m really disappointed. I DO still like their salads however & yes - I agree with the above review - that their prices are quite high!
The new Panera that looks like a New England building that serves Lobster Rolls was clean and very nice. Was great to see a nice Panera again.
Occasionally we meet friends from Virginia here to have an extended lunch. We are never rushed or bothered by staff. However the portions of food and getting much smaller.
Panera Bread - chain but good food. Join the "Sip Club" and get almost unlimited drinks (not more often than every two hours.) Ordering your drinks online can be spotty, they don't always get the order, but they're good about giving it to you anyway. My wife loves the Mac 'n Cheese and salads. Sandwiches and much more. I like the brownies
