About this business

Joseph Dequattro is a second-generation Italian who runs this acclaimed restaurant in Federal Hill. Of course, he shares the warmth and comfort of Italy of his nonna's kitchen with dishes like Point Judith calamari, saltimbocca, and lamb shank. The wine list is filled with varietals like Montepulciano and Valpolicella and the knowledgeable waitstaff can help you pair one with each meal. The restaurant also provides catering services and rents its space for private events.

BEST FOOD! – Pane e Vino has had good and bad reviews, despite this I did decide to give it a try. I had a wonderful experience, the wine list is amazing, food was great. it is a very romantic restaurant and the service is top notch. I would recommend this to any of my friends.

Extremely Disappointed – I was in town visiting my parents for my mothers birthday and wanted to take her out for a great meal. Suggested by the hotel concierge service, we decided to dine at Pane Vino. We arrived at the restaurant about 10 minutes early for our reservation so when we were asked to wait I didn't think much of it. Although don't try to get a drink at the bar. The lovely girl behind the bar was so overwhelmed that I think she might have needed periodical doses of oxygen. After waiting 45 minutes for our table ... read more

All around terrible experience – After reading positive reviews, I came to Pane E Vino after a show at the Dunk. It was midweek so we got seated right away, but after that everything went downhill... When the bread first came I was excited because it was extremely soft; that is until I bit in and found it was still dough. Next we ordered our wine and put in an order for the appetizer special- stuffed mozzarella and peppers in buffalo olive oil. After the waitress mistakenly poured our wine in the water glass, she returned wi... read more

Terrible experiene: Rude staff and staggering waits – I don't usually complain about restaurants, and I've never before written a negative restaurant review on the internet. However, my experience at Pane e Vino the other night was so bad that I can't keep quiet. We had a reservation, and showed up right on time. The hostess, who seemed nice enough but slightly overwhelmed, assured us that we would be seated promptly. After waiting half an hour, I asked for a status update. The hostess rudely replied that she would tell us w... read more

My new favorite Italian restaurant. – Until a few days ago, I was totally unaware of Pane e Vino's existence. I'm glad I wandered in. Everything about my evening was excellent. Entering, I was pleased with the decor and ambiance. It wasn't pretentious or fake. It was cozy, romantic, and all the other good adjectives I could use. The tan color scheme makes me feel as though I'm sitting in a villa in the Italian countryside. We were seated immediately. The table dress was very good if not too formal. The floor is slippery, so ... read more

Best of the Best! – We been here 4 times within the last year. Best place on the hill. The ambiance is very romantic, get a seat by the window if possible(reservaions recommended). The waitstaff is outstanding, knowledgeable about food and wine. They even let you try a sip if they have a bottle open. Menu is good but the specials win out every time. The chilean sea bass is to die for. The bread pudding is tasty but the tiramisu is some of the best. Hopefully someday we'll get around to trying some pasta & gravy. Well worth t... read more
