The first Palo Pinto school was established in 1858 by Ham Baker in a rented cabin and the first purpose built school opened in 1859 with 30 students. The Spanish name Palo Pinto refers to the Spotted Oak, a common regional tree having bark with a mottled appearance.

My niece has had a baby shower and her son's second birthday party in the cafeteria. It is so big and roomy. Places for the kiddos to play and inside for cool. Great idea Layla Watts.
