Loved learning more about this alternative energy method with the audio tour and to see the turbines in person is quite an experience. However, the cost for the self driving tour is nothing less than ridiculous. It was nearly $80 for our car with 2 adults and 2 kids. Should be $20 per car max. Do your own reading and drive around the turbine area on your own. There are far better ways to spend $80.

I found the “self-guided driving tour” of the Palm Springs wind farms to be wildly overpriced and fundamentally misguided. Let’s be clear: you are paying nearly $60 to drive your own car around and listen to an audio guide. There is no real “tour” in the traditional sense—no guide, no meaningful interaction—just access to roads and information that could easily be provided at minimal cost.
