We recently celebrated my husband's birthday and decided to visit since the restaurant transitioned to Palm & Ivy. The restaurant was clearly experiencing some growing pains associated with the new ownership and staffing changes, and service was quite a bit slower than expected. However, our server, Abbie/Abby (apologies if misspelled), was outstanding. She was incredibly friendly, kept us informed throughout the evening, and sincerely apologized for the delays. We LOVE Palm & Ivy! It is by far the most upscale restaurant in Hobe Sound, and an easy drive from Jupiter, Tequesta, and Stuart. We go here for many of our special occasions and for a nice date night. Last night I had the housemade pasta which was excellent, and my husband ordered one of the specials: Sweet Tea Fried Chicken. We've been coming here for a few years, but something changed for the worst recently. Supposedly it's under new ownership and it shows, and not in a good way. Our group of 6 ordered a round of butter wash bourbon old fashioneds. It took a half hour to receive them despite it not being busy. The serve apologized that our appetizers arrived first before the drinks. We noticed the drinks weren't correct, so we notified our server. What a HUGE disappointment and a ruined Mother's Day dinner! Sadly, we have been coming since they opened and will not be back, and will be sure to warn others to not waste their money. This is the third time Ive been here and thought the service and disorganization was a fluke. I was wrong. No one greets you when walking in. You have to get someone's attention. The food was okay but nothing great. The servers are always running around and disorganized. Everything took long and was never checked on. I don't know if they are constantly under staffed but there is never any management around either. Will not be going back. There are tons of great restaurants around
