Not the place to stay when travelling for business. Amazing young man working on reception. Only person there! Restaurant not open (for a weary traveller just wanting simple room service) when it was advertised as available, disappointing. Steps in room difficult to manage. Cafe has chips, no water and alcohol. The owners need to lift their game. Staff are amazing. Imagine having to call a phone number, let it ring out and hope for the best during an emergency? We recently stayed at Palais Royale for the weekend with a group of friends. We have stayed before and have loved the ambience of the hotel - rooms very comfortable and warm and the furnishings suit the old style architecture. This time however, we met receptionist (Jill of all trades) Michelle who was a delight. No request was too hard for her to fill and her beaming smile was wonderful - would recommend a stay at this lovely hotel.
