Even the the Joe is older than most other NHL Arenas it is still a good place to watch a game. You can't beat the winning atmosphere a Red Wings game provides. The seats are good no matter where you sit and the Wings usually come away a winner.
I've been going to the Palace ever since it opened for sports events and concerts. They do a wonderful job and the entertainment is always great.

Awesome place to see a concert! Just don't get the nose-bleed seats. They are too far away!
great parking, although expensive. good facility for a concert!
