Founded in 1956, Pal s Sudden Service is a company-owned, carryout-only restaurant chain. The design for the first Pal s drive-through was done on the back of a napkin. Its owner, Pal, explained his concept and asked one of the designers for his opinion. The designer, Tony Barone, immediately sketched a building with the stair-stepped front holding larger-than-life food and drink items on a napkin. My favorite fast-food! Pal's is absolutely the best place to get fast food in Kingsport. There are several locations throughout the city. It is a drive-thru only. They have great burgers--I always get the junior pal with cheese. You can order it the way you like it. The chili buns are delicious too! Their "frenchie fries" are my kids' favorite french fries around.

Great Concept – In 1969 the lunar astronauts could hear Houston better than some fast food places can hear you through the drive-thru microphone. Pal's has a well-designed menu placed at the beginning of the drive-thru then you actually place your order FACE-TO-FACE. This in itself makes me go back but the food is great too. The fries need working on.
