I am so happy we found painted pony. Zel and Suzie are lovely and it has been so good for my son. He loves the horses and having him connect with the animals was such a brilliant way of helping him learn and understand their behaviours, giving him so much insight into how others respond and their cues. Zel, Susie and the horses at Painted Pony have been wonderful supports for my now teenage son with autism and ADHD. Throughout his time with the team, he has become far less anxious, more confident, happy and willing to give things a go. This is a massive change from when we started a few years ago. Highly recommend equine therapy at Painted Pony. It was exactly the shift and support we needed to elevate my son’s capabilities and development.
Zel and Susie provide a priceless service to kids that need help to learn about non verbal cues in a social interaction. Every session is carefully crafted around the child, focussing on their goals and needs, resulting in a more confident, socially adjusted person. The horses are clearly loved and cared for to the highest standards, enabling the richest learning experience for children with additional needs.
After I tried to kill myself in 2020, I worked collaboratively with other people on an NDIS plan. The goals of my plan were: to reintergrate into society with mental health care supports; to become a better; more productive; more highly funtioning; and, independent member of society.
