We had some kitchen cupboards and drawer fronts that were damaged by water and in bad shape. We had asked the kitchen designer what it would cost to replace them. They (DesLaurier) quoted an excessive amount of money (for half the number of cupboard fronts), 8-12 weeks delivery, and wanted to be paid upfront with no guarantees. I took advantage of their save the tax deal. I suppose you get what you paid for. If you are thinking to use the kitchen for a while, I wouldn’t recommend their service. They are supposed to be primed and double coated. Based on what I see, it’s a single coat of paint. When I asked, they offered 10% back. I took their offer without inspecting throughly the rest of the doors as I was out of town. Since then they don’t respond to my email. Save yourself money, do it yourself.

Susan and David did a superb job on our kitchen and bathroom doors. They look extremely professional. Just make sure you get all the right tips from them that they are more than willing to share about how to get the same smooth effect they do when you do the trim and fixed panels at home. You also need to be somewhat more careful with even slight dings on the surface as paint is naturally not as durable as a laminate or veneer and can scratch and come off more easily (watch the corners especially). I used Paint Magic Kitchens for two kitchens (doors and drawers) in 2019 (Revere Pewter - a soft grey) and 2021 (Mossy Bank - a moss green colour). Susan and David are very knowledgeable, helpful, thorough, and flexible. Part of their service includes a tutorial on how to paint cabinet frames, gables and other fixed features in a kitchen. This tutorial is crucial, as the customer is usually responsible for painting the fixed elements of kitchen cabinets. Would I do business with them again? Absolutely!
