I was in the area and Google searched for a French style bakery finding this place. It is uniquely located on the corner of 70th and Columbus. It's small inside but the pastries and baked goods look amazing. I got some croissants and the pain aux raisins. I was also tempted to get the bread but it wasn't made on site. The croissants were good and fresh but I didn't like the pain aux raisins, needed to be a little sweeter.
The order was incorrect (a birthday cake) and the cake was inedible. After raising this with the bakery, they didn’t reply. Friendly ordering system over the phone but terrible product. $$ down the drain.
I really wanted to love this cute little place, the coffee was excellent, but unfortunately the cheese danish was stale and got me thinking it was from yesterday...
Unfortunately I’ve just had a bad experience. I got an èclair. The icing had melted and re-hardened, the pastry was dry, the mousse had deflated, and there was a slimy syrup dripping off the bottom. It was a really disappointing sort of tough dry pastry with a soggy bottom. I’ll try again since the other reviews are good. Next time I’ll ask what is freshest/most popular.
