Dr Paek and since retired, but he was the first of several dermatologists I have seen to correctly diagnose the strange rashes and skin growths I had on my scalp. While others just jumped to erroneous conclusions, he did a biopsy. Which came back as very clearly discoid lupus. He ran other tests to be sure it was not also systemic at that time. He cautioned me to stay out of the sun and cover my skin when outdoors. The rashes disappeared. He was just the sweetest man also. I wish I could find another doctor like him.
Dr. Paek is very polite and made me feel very comfortable about the procedures I had. His office staff especially the receptionist, is not friendly, almost to the point of rude or dismissive. The nurse is a little better, maybe just shy. The wait time my first visit was about 45 mins with 25 of that sitting in an exam room before I saw Dr. Paek. The second visit they got to me very fast. If you are looking for a good dermatologist and the office staff does not matter, you will be happy,
Dr. Paek is down-to-earth and very accommodating with a caring manner. He listened to my questions and was happy to include a medication I asked about into the treatment plan. He is willing to see me when my husband has an appointment and definitely comes across as a reasonable and flexible doctor. The treatment he prescribed (2 meds) quickly and very much helped my rosacea. I feel lucky to have found him.
I found Dr. Paek to be very friendly and patient. When he spotted something on my lip he biopsied it immediately, rather than schedule another appointment. He told me I'd get a call if it was of concern, but I'd get a letter if it was okay. I was very surprised when I got his note advising me that it was benign. It was not a form letter, but a short note bearing his signature. I don't know of any other doctors that will take the time and personal touch for what most would treat as routine.
