Played Packsaddle Wed 10-15-25. Greens and fairways were in great condition, white tee boxes were rough, but they were working on them. From the white tees very challenging, but for a bigger hitter could move to blue or black tees. The maintenance crew were out and respect-full as not all courses do that. Staff was courteous and attentive and the clubhouse is awesome. Beers on the deck overlooking 18th hole made for a great day. We just hit Packsaddle and it is an exceptional course. In fact it used to be the home course for JMU golf. The course has some steep terrain but allows a mid level golfer like myself to manage a decent score. The fairways are well manicured and the greens are in great shape. The club house is enormous, the carts are new and the staff is friendly. give this course try and you won’t be disappointed.
I played there this morning and it is almost completely back to its former glory! A couple of greens still had remnants of the mold issue that they have had to deal with but the course is in great shape otherwise. The staff has done quite a bit to get it back in shape and their hard work is paying off. Absolutely gorgeous views and a very friendly staff. Highly recommend!
No water in ball washers, greens in very rough shape. But they have many groundskeepers working diligently to whip the course back into shape.
