This was a phenomenal place to go with a ton of amazing history and joyful memories for many people. Unfortunately, for those who do not know, Packers Cabin burned up in a fire early September of 2025, and is no longer there. Just ashes and metal scraps remain as of now. This is a heartbreaking loss, and I hope someday soon it is rebuilt, or something is put there in its place. What a neat cabin and area. So quiet, beautiful spot, dog friendly.
This is now one of my favorite places. Does it need a coat of paint? Yes. Is it cold at night because the wind whips through all the cracks in the siding? Yes. But there is just something about it that is magical! It takes you back in time to when things were simple. The forest all around it has burned, but packers cabin stays, a beacon of hope and strength amongst the devastation.
