The management team is always very responsive, friendly, and efficient. Maintenance issues were always handled swiftly and appropriately. Like some other reviews have mentioned, there was a lot of construction happening over the past year and it seems like it will continue for some time. If you're sensitive to noise and disruption, it may not be the place for you to live in the immediate future. Pacific Oaks is terrible right now. Things were tolerable when we first moved in, but it has gotten worse and worse over the last few years. CURRENTLY, the construction they have us all coping with is taking MUCH LONGER than what was promised in their notice, or at least the one they gave us for our building. The various companies they've hired all show up at 8 am for about an hour, take 2-3 hours for lunch, and then they leave by 3pm. I feel like the whole complex could've been done by now. It's an old apartment complex, decently maintained and sufficient utilities but very creaky floors, thin walls and highly over priced. The management staff is very rude and arrogant. They behave very differently from when you are enquiring about leasing to when you start living at the apartments and being blatantly discourteous when you are leaving the apartment. Neverending construction with the associated dust, noise, and debris falling and damaging residents and their property. This landlord believes you owe them your time and toue energy and changes apartment configuration after lease has been signed. Construction is often performed in an unsafe manner, or in ways that it inconvenience and endangers residents; poor debris control and lots of noise.
