I visited the Raptors on a whim, assuming that they were a rescue centre. Upon visiting, and asking more questions, it became clear that this is not a rehab or rescue centre and very few of the birds were even born in the wild. In addition, not all birds get to fly or soar daily, so they live their lives in a tiny enclosure. My husband loves birds so I booked a hawk walk at The Raptors for his birthday weekend. We had an excellent time interacting with Paul the hawk and seeing all the other birds on site. The flying demonstration was also so incredible and informative. I have a new found appreciation for vultures and birds in general.
What a fantastic and a lifetime opportunity! I did the Eagle Encounter and it was well worth the money. The other birds were also interesting. Unfortunately we were unable to stay for the flying demonstration. We went in late September so they were not as frequent. I did notice that earlier in the summer that it was more often. The staff were knowledgeable and very friendly.
