The peace of this lovely place is tangible as soon as you drive onto the grounds. The staff is so kind and welcoming, and my cabin was clean and comfortable. Birdsong covered most of the traffic noise from the nearby highway, and the local chipmunks, birds, and deer provided the entertainment! I will definitely be back.
Put away your thoughts of sparseness or a spartan-like simplicity. Yes, you'll be using an outdoor toilet. Yes, there is no electricity in the hermitage cabins. But the gas lamp is sufficient, the water and bread and cheese and fruit are filling, and the beds are quite comfortable. Pacem IT has created an excellent environment for contemplation and relaxation. And knowing you are specifically being prayed for during your stay adds to the sense of being welcomed and loved and cared for.
I loved my hermitage. I was sad to leave this place.
A wonderful, peaceful and beautiful weekend. Exceeded my expectations. Will return annually!!!
