Just got our October bill. We've had the A.C. off during that time except for two brief times. Still don't run high power consumption items simultaneously. Alas, our bill is only 3 dollars less than the month prior and significantly higher than 1 year ago. Our demand charge and facility charge combined are higher than our actual usage. I'm bumpuzzled! Suggestion: Perhaps those people who use less Kwh could get a discount to offset this.
UPDATE: I've now been banned from their Facebook page! How's that for listening to their members! Original post: My wife and I are dumbfounded, as a lot of our friends are, at the new Demand Charge scheme (scam). Personally, for May 2024, we used 20% less electricity than last year and paid 31% MORE PER KWH. For the state of Missouri, the average cost of electricity is $0.1082 per KWH.
