Excellent sushi and teriyaki. Highly recommend. If you are early it's easy to talk, gets louder as it fills.

First of all, they have the best sushi in Iowa City. There isn’t another sushi place that’s fresher or more generous than Oyama. On weekends and holidays, it gets pretty busy, so you may have to wait a bit for your food. However, you’re getting friendly service and great food for the price, so if you’re not expecting a fast-food experience, Oyama is a must-visit.

Outstanding flavor and presentation at a great value. We tried several rolls and all of them were incredible works of art. Fun and absolutely delicious to try them all. The service was also top notch. You could tell from the interaction with staff that they really care about the customer and their business. Highly recommended.

I have had a lot of sushi/japanese food across the US and this was one if the best. My wife and I went out to celebrate her birthday and it was amazing. We had the Una don, Shiromi Usuzukuri, Chirashi, Hamachi collar, Geisha roll, First Avenue roll, Naruto roll appetizer, and a Mackerel Sashimi. The portions are huge and the quality is very good.
