Graduated high school and the program here as a peer mentor here in 2020 after being there for roughly two years met some lifelong buddies along with staff whom i still talk to this day. also had the privilege to actually come back and work here as a staff for 8 months. would highly recommend if you are looking for a good place with wonderful people who can and will help your son.
As a former peer mentor and student a couple years ago my biggest lesson I learned here was empathy. To understand a persons emotions and sense their true intention thru thoughtful observations. Being aware of not only your own actions and emotions but also of those around you is key to building and keeping lasting relationships. Worked here for about 8 months.. The staff i worked with are probably the best coworkers i’ve had out of all my jobs. The students are very well behaved and Shawn is great with them. Would recommend if you would like a rewarding job.
I was there back in 08-09 when I was still in the closet and let me tell you that this was one of the worst experiences of my life. It felt like every therapeutic staff there was trying to convince me that I shouldn't be trans and that being cis while dressing with clothes that match my gender assigned at birth is the way to go. The education was standard at best. If I could rate 0 stars I would.
