About this business

My approach to treating and caring for patients is to work as a team with the patient and the rest of the care team to get the best outcomes. I listen to what the patient has to say so I can learn as much as possible about their issue before diagnosing them. I also believe in educating the patient so they can be an active participant in their health. When I see a patient in our Cosmetic Treatment Center, I make sure that I fully explain the treatment to the patient so they fully understand how the treatment will work and the... read more

I would first like to confirm all of these bad reviews as TRUE! I WAS WRONGFULLY DISCHARGED. I've suffered from severe back pain and the only help I was offered was a referral to chiropractic. ( I have a neck injury from previous chiropractic care so I refused) When I begged for help through my chart - my appointment was cancelled with only a days notice and I was discharged. That's all it took. I called him out on his lack of care and then took it out on me by wrongfully discharging me and sending metro health legal team on... read more

Among all of the negative experiences I had with Dr. Owens, this one remains in the forefront of my memories- Before he entered the room for our appointment, before coming in and saying hello or asking me how I've been, he very LOUDLY asked me from outside the room, hallway/nurse's station about a sexual side effect I told him about at a prior appointment. I could hear a woman laughing at me outside the door as he entered the room.

Was a patient for close to 2 years. Never met the man. When I did meet him he had done 0 research on my medical history and told me that because I tested positive for a controlled substance he didn't need to do any research because he didn't think I would even show up. The young lady physician who helps out in his absence is very nice and helpful. My opinion in 5 minutes was he's a co-pay grab doc that wants sore throats and the flu. We disagreed and he fired me as a patient.

I was diagnosed incorrectly by doctor's in the past, then Dr. Owens was help lead me in the right direction to determine an illness I had been struggling with my whole life. He is very smart and respectful in my opinion. He has helped change my life and lead me to a much happier life style. Obviously you have to make appointments in advance if you want to see him, but his PAs are easily accessible for problems such as the flu or other non-severe issues.

Dr. Owens has been our family doctor for almost 11 years. He is always pleasant. He interacts very well with my children. They feel very comfortable when they are there. He even remembers their interests so that he can spark up a conversation with them at appointments. He is straight-forward and practical. I have no complaints. If you can't get an appointment with Dr. Owens, you can usually get in same day with one of his PA's.

I do not recommend Owens for a primary care doctor. The practice is overbooked, the receptionist and doctors do not communicate well. There is a very long wait time for responses and also you will wait more than a week to see the Doctor. Metro says same day appointments but it is with PA's and not a doctor. Mychart is a terrible way of communication when you have serious medical conditions. He is a friendly doctor when you can get in to see him but never has time for patients.

Not worth the risk. You will rarely see Dr. Ownes, only his PAs. They do not spend time to review your charts before making recommendations, and do not like to hear your feedback or opinions while they make poor decisions that could hurt you or your family. This is past poor customer service, and borderlines negligence. You owe it to you and your family to take a few minutes and find better.

The staff here badmouths patients behind their backs and the doctor allows it. He also argues about symptoms patients feel, for example, saying that the pain isn't as bad as what the patient is claiming it is. Out of frustration I can't think of a better way to word the negative experience with these medical "professionals", but these are absolutely some of the worst people in the business.

Great bedside manner. Easy to talk to. Not intimidating at all. Great staff and office!
