The quality of the food has went down hill, the last few months. The presentation of the salad, has changed ALOT. The lettuce was yellow and bitter, it looked like they were in a hurry..and put 3 chunks of tomato..a little cheese and croutons. Baked potatoes are never hot. The butter will not even melt. Overall disappointed..and quite pricey!
Overlook Restaurant is ⥠GREAT ⥠My husband and I went on a 241 mile ride on our motorcycles and stopped at the Overlook to eat on 04 Sep 2009. The food is ALL homemade and the people are very courtious. The prices are reasonable at about the same price you eat at a regular restaurant. My husband had the pot pie and I hade the bourbon sirloin and we also had appitizers and it ran us about 40 bucks. Not accomodating I have been to the restaurant on three occasions and have been very disappointed in the quality of the food and the service. It seems to me that they offer the bare minimum in the selection on the menu and the hostess should really step aside and let someone that is more customer oriented take over her job. I think she has grown older and grumpy and is not a good representative of the restaurant. I must admit the view of the Ohio River is gorgous, but the restaurant lacks in many things.
Nice place. The Overlook restaurant is located in Leavenworth, Indiana. I live in Louisville, Kentucky, but enjoy driving to this place for special occasions. We usually go to this place on Mother's day, and always enjoy the food and atmosphere. You can make reservations, but be prepared to wait for your table even with reservations. It's a shame... that a restaurant with such a gorgeous location would be so unwelcoming and serve such mediocre food. We've stayed twice at the Leavenworth Inn B&B, which we love, but the fact that the 'breakfast' part of the stay is a voucher to the Overlook is a real bummer. You don't feel like a guest at the restaurant, you feel like an imposition. The food is just okay at best. It makes me hesitate to recommend the Inn, which is very nice, because the restaurant is NOT. My advice - skip the restaurant and enjoy the river... read more

Great fried chicken. Hope you keep sweet potato fries on tge menu. The death by chocolate cake was to die for.
