Nurses and coordinators are very rude and understaffed and doctors seem money hungry and will just try to do a C-Section for higher profits (third highest C-Section rate in the KC Metro). Trust me, just transfer to KU while you still can.
I delivered my daughter here a year ago, and I had an amazing experience—especially compared to the previous hospital where I delivered my first daughter. I had a precipitous labor and arrived at the hospital already measuring 9.5 cm. The nurses were professional and efficient, but also incredibly encouraging and supportive throughout the entire experience. A heartfelt thank you to my incredible labor and delivery nurses, Casslyn, Hanan, and Madi. I was admitted for an induction at 39 weeks, and what started as a planned delivery quickly turned into an emergency C-section. It was a very scary and emotional experience, but these amazing nurses made all the difference. Madi, my night shift nurse, was the first person who guided me through this unexpected journey. My wife and I had our 2nd daughter here. I wish both of our daughters had been born here. Our first experience elsewhere was horrible. However, this experience was night and day. Dr. Newby is fantastic. We had a scheduled C-Section, and everything went according to plan, smoothly. My wife and daughter’s nurses, Chloe, Anna, and I can’t recall the third nurses name (equally as awesome), were amazing. 10/10 would recommend!
