Communication was lacking, went past estimated diagnoses/repair date, and pickup was awkward when I gave up and went to get it. Wasted a month of boating season, my advise is to go elsewhere for service.

Also, at the time of drop off a technician as well as myself told you it would be about 3-4 weeks before we would be able to look at it. Background: My husband's 1998 115 SPL Evinrude outboard engine’s life ended after a great 20 years of service. This has been the best engine he owned over his 45 years of boating. (He is on 4th boat and engine) Decision: there were 4 options. 1) Buy a brand new 19 foot boat at a cost of $35K + tax = $36K 2) Buy a new outboard engine $9K +new controls + mounting fee = $12K 3) Rent a boat for the summer $6K (incur fee every yr) 4) Have very simple 115 Evinrude (that never gave problems) re-built for $6K Made the decision to ha... read more

*** ******* I'm sorry you feel you had a bad experience here however your claims don't seem to be entirely correct. We did try to scan your motor with our diagnostic computer but it requires an abnormal plug that we do not have therefore we were going to do our diagnostic testing the old-fashioned way. We tested compression and spark as we do with every boat that comes in because if your compression is not good then your motor is not worth repair and we don't want to you to spend more money than necessary to find out what's ... read more
