I needed a SolarEdge inverter replaced under warranty after my original solar installer went out of business. I contacted Otovo for help. Before they would proceed, they required a **$299 system inspection fee**. I asked a very simple question: **“After the inspection, how much will you charge to replace the failed inverter if the inverter itself is covered under warranty?”** They would not give me an answer—or even a clear estimate or explanation of what additional charges I should expect. Solar system works intermittently. Paid 299 to come out and check the system. Turned breaker off turn back on and system reset again like I've been doing for past 5/6 days. The tech said itbis likely the inverter and if it goes out again that what they'll need to do. System failed again and doesn't reset. Called, scheduled them again, they want a other 299 to come assess the same issues. They finally come out again 7 days later and say they'll provide an estimate. Needed an Inverter replacement due to original solar company going out of business. Was able to diagnose the issue directly with the manufacturer so only needed services for inverter installation. Due to the way they operate, actual costs of repair are kept behind the technical diagnostics fee which you need to pay before receiving a quote. Be ware: I contacted Otovo as one of two SolarEdge servicers in my area and it’s been an absolute nightmare with them holding my warrantied replacement battery hostage while increasing the service fee from $900 to $5000 knowing that I had them ship the replacement part to their warehouse. Each time their sales department calls me the repair quote jumps by a couple thousand dollars. My favorite part about Otovo Electricity is how the wind causes it to shut off and back on three times within one minute on 6/2/26 at 5:20 pm Central Time. Quickly shutting off the power just to turn it back on, then off, then on, then off, then on again IS SO GOOD FOR MY COMPUTER!!!
