This is probably one of the last affordable places in the immdeiate area. Friendly staff and good food!
The food is pretty damn good. They season their meats. The pastor is nine out of 10 the carne asada is juicy also I will be a customer as long as they are open.*Edit4/22/26* My lady and I frequent this restaurant often. They pretty much know what we're going to get before we even order. The last couple of times we've been in the food hasn't been hitting like it used to. The flavor has become a lot weaker. Best taco shop in town. Im from San Diego and have high expectations when it comes to Mexican food. Outside of San Diego its hard to find a place that does it right. And every single time this place makes me feel at home. Javier Ruiz, the original owner of cotijas in el cajon california passed his knowledge of deliousous excellence to his kids.
Great modern spot for delicious quesa birria and tacos!
This place was just what we were looking for when we travel. Great food, great portions and great service. Was a little busy, but we ended up getting the California burrito, carne asada tacos and quesabirria tacos. All I can say is wow. Flavors were on point, every bite was just great. The California burrito was just what I remember when traveling, on point. Thanks from BC Canada, will be back for sure when we return.
