Orvis is a store that was designed specifically for my life style. There fly fishing gear is second to none. When I go to the store with a problem with my tackle or my technique, the staff always enthusiastically help me. I am a big dog lover and my puppies enjoy trips to Orvis with me. All my casual button down shirts come from Orvis. I hope they last forever, or at least as long as I do.

Wet flies have gone in and out of favor a lot over the past century, but many anglers swear by them. As this great video from The New Fly Fisher, the key to a good wet-fly swing is mending.

Fly-tying pro tip from Tom Rosenbauer: You hear so much about using Super Glue and UV resins in flies these days. But good old head cement dries quickly, doesn’t make your fingers stick together, doesn’t give your flies a whitish cast like Super Glue, and it seeps into thread and hackles and hair really well. Plus you never have to worry about the batteries in your UV light going stale. Those other adhesives have their places but I still rely on head cement about 80 percent of the time.

Few things in fly-fishing are as exciting as watching a largemouth bass smash a fly on the surface, and Alvin Dedeaux of All Water Guides gets to watch this spectacle more than most anglers.
