I went to Oronegro to buy a pounamu necklace for my mother and I was very happy to choose this shop. The owner is such a nice guy, I stayed with him for 3 hours and had great conversations with him. It was so interesting to hear all about the stones and him making the jewellery. They source the original NZ greenstone directly from the tribes and carve the stone to perfection. Truely amazing restoration done with so much care and love. Don’t ask for a repair to be done in a week. Understand how much time and effort they put into their work. In the light you can see the level of work that has been done to put my very special and personal piece back together. Happen to chance upon this humble cozy little place. Wasn't expecting to make any purchase, but upon entering Hernesto was super warm and cute, explaining every piece of artwork in his shop.
