Thumbs Down on the Oriental House Although the Oriental House was one of the first Oriental restaurants to open in Neosho, it is no longer a good place to dine. In their early days - in a smaller location - most of the cooking was done by family who knew how to prepare the dishes. After a move to a new, large and more lavish building, cooks were hired to reproduce the recipes and the result is lacking. Most dishes are bland and have little flavor. Great place for families, terrible for authentic Chinese Cuisine I agree with everything Lee Ann said, I had the pleasure of taking my girlfriend out to eat at Oriental House and I assure you it will be the last. The food was bland and tasteless, the fried rice was lacking color, flavor and variety. The lo mein was soggy and greasy, our waitress, though very friendly, seemed to rush us through our meal and gave us our check the SECOND we sat down with our food. Delicious! – This has to be some of the best Chinese food that I have ever had. My family and I drive down to Neosho quite frequently just to eat at the Oriental House. The food is always fresh and the service is unbeatable. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants a great meal for a reasonable price.
