This little market is not so little; it is absolutely amazingly large, with an enormous selection of middle eastern foods, including beans, coffees, rices, canned frozen and packaged foods. Excellent cheese and yogurt selections; the produce is incredibly fresh and well presented. But the biggest draw for us was the service- all of management and staff were hands on, offering samples if their fruits, information on the areas it came from, and just so friendly and knowledgeable! The owners are helpful and happy to have your business. It's my preferred Middle Eastern market in town because of its selection of all products. My only wish is that they made bread. A bag of hot pita to accompany the sumptuous dishes in the carry-out deli in the back (although a little saltier than my heart prefers). Everything is so good. There's meat. Great selection of spices and food items that you can't get anywhere else. Extremely good prices for international/imported items! Friendly staff. Incredible fresh pastries, made in house. Hot Deli of authentic food items, made fresh. Can't say enough good things about this store. Truly excellent all the way around!
As a Middle Easterner, I can honestly say this is the best Arabic market in the Portland area. The store has just about everything you could need, shelves full of spices, herbs, side dishes, drinks, and so many options to choose from. Nice store, friendly, welcoming owner. Good selection of ingredients and fruit and veg was fresh. Didn’t try the shawarma but will definitely be back to enjoy it!
