Wow. I was told I can’t be seen because I’m not “rural.” The doctors in Eugene who take my insurance aren’t accepting new patients, which leaves Orchid Health as my only option without driving an hour or more away. But because of my zip code, I’m turned away. Patients are already limited by insurance networks, and policies like this just make access to care even harder. You're part of the problem Orchid Health.
Orchid Health - Fern Ridge is one of the absolute best medical offices I've ever visited. I have a few different chronic health issues and as a female, I'm used to not being taken seriously. Dr. Birang and her staff have been fantastic, compassionate and patient. I have EDS and was pleasantly surprised when Dr. Birang paused to make sure the provider she was referring me to was familiar with EDS - completely unprompted. You can't get an appointment for awhile and they pass the buck, I have never had an issue setting appointments with any other PCP until I started seeing this group. I have an acute issue which just seems to be simply just being passed around from one Dr to the next and when I inquired about pain management I was told I was under the surgeons care so I would need to ask them, well according to SLOCUM I'm not under any surgeons care and that my PCP needs to help manage the pain, well I can't even schedule a tele health visit w... read more
Usually I don't have an issue with this place, today though... I was on hold for 20 minutes saying I was 3rd in line all the way up to 1st in line and then it says it can't take my call and to leave a message. So I called back- the same thing happened. I spent 40 minutes on hold. So I drove down, they're dead. Their phone system isn't working. And they don't have any appointments available.
