Our 4th time at Orchard kitchen and I am devastated to say we were completely disappointed with our experience, not me only, the four of us (2 couples). We are locals and want to support this restaurant so much, we love the environment, the fresh products from the farm or locally sourced but the menu and its execution were far below the price point ($400 per person including the wine pairing, 20% sec charge + 10% extra tip!). ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We spent two weeks on Whidbey Island and had so many great experiences, but Orchard Kitchen was easily one of the highlights of our entire trip. We loved it so much that we went twice—and the two dinners were completely different. Chef/owner Vincent Nattress told us that the menu changes constantly depending on what the farm is producing, and he wasn't exaggerating. My husband and I were a bit disappointed with the food and overall experience of eating at Orchard Kitchen. We love that it was farm to table and the service was good, but we both left still hungry which felt ridiculous for the price point. The first course was a bite of liver p�t� on a cracker. The pasta dish was tasty but it was about six or seven noddles, and the final dish was duck with three slivers of meat, a small pile of spinach and some lentils. I really wanted to like this place, we had some family from out of town that thought it was superb, but I just cant get over the discrepancies, to be fair im a harsher judge based on price, I expect to be impressed at this ticket. While the service was decent and it was nice to eat in the garden environment, I still needed a second dinner after.
