Love the workouts and most trainers are awesome! For that alone it is highly recommended and indeed a life changing condition. However... Charging and class cancellation policy is terrible, with your bill getting charged insanely for things. Things like water: the water cooler has undrinkable and warm water but they sell you a bottle for $5. Elite membership allows you to have unlimited classes, but if you don't make it to class or if you cancel out of courtesy so someone else can have the spot, a cancellation fee applies as... read more
I was a personal trainer over 10 years ago and since Covid, I started to lose motivation at the gym. I don’t like group fitness classes, but I knew I needed something to get me back into my workouts. I tried an Orange Theory class and loved it so much, I signed up the same day. Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s totally worth it! Only complaint is that Coach Tay isn’t at St. Louis Park enough! ;)
Even though they offer a free month, they are not clear on what that means. If you don’t make it to 12 classes, they charge you for the next month. It’s in the paperwork, but they’re not explicit about it and no one made that clear to me beforehand. I called to dispute it and they wouldn’t work with me and were not understanding. Updated review. I gave Orangetheory another try after trying out some other gyms. It was a fun time. I was able to follow along a lot better after getting used to the format at other smaller gyms. I still really have trouble figuring out what I'm supposed to do on the treadmill, but rowing and floor exercises have videos or progressions written out for you. The layout is pretty crowded.
