The studio has good overall energy and the front desk staff is friendly and helpful. The studio is on the smaller side, and the floor area can feel tight during the strength portion. A couple of times I’ve struggled to find enough space to work out effectively. It would be helpful if coaches reminded members to stagger their equipment. Unfortunately, Orangetheory Closter lost me as a customer because of how rigidly they enforce their policies. I arrived at 12:06 for a 12:00 Tread 50 class and was turned away because I was one minute past their five-minute cutoff. I completely understand a late policy for a traditional coached class, where arriving late could mean missing important instructions or disrupting the workout. I am extremely disappointed with the way Orangetheory handles its membership cancellation process. Back in May, I requested to cancel my membership because I knew I would be out of the country for several months. I was told that management would be able to handle everything over the phone and that someone would call me. That call never came.
