My experience with Dr. Coates was nothing short of excellent. He is very thorough, professional and knowledgeable. I have know Dr. Coats for many, many years. And would recommend him in a minute. The reason I gave this low rating is the optical people on staff, I would not recommend them at all. Very rude on the phone, and this wasnt the first time. Wish I could have taken my mom to see Dr. Coats since he came highly recommended. Unfortunately the front office staff would not set up the appointment. They insist on collecting the patients social security number over the phone even though there are other safer ways to identify patients for scheduling purposes. I offered to give the social security number when in person but they still refused to set up the appointment. Hostile jerk. If you want good treatment with good bedside manner, I suggest you stay away from him.

I went to this facility in 2020 and swore I'd never go back due to unfriendly staff but because I am limited to whom my insurance is accepted by I had no choice and again, same unfriendly ladies working the front desk. The lady doing my exam excused herself in the middle of my exam to answer a phone call and the woman in the next room was having a conversation with the patient and I could hear every word she was saying (he doesn't smoke, he drinks on occasion, I even heard which medications he was on).
