Jim is a wonderful violin teacher! I take a 30-minute lesson with him each week. I had about a year of violin lessons in high school, but after a long break I started lessons with Jim and have now been studying with him for about a year. I would say he's a great fit for you if you have some experience (it doesn't have to be much) with the instrument and if you also like to be proactive with work outside what is given to you.
