So far the last one and only traditional DimSum left in Charlotte. Best part is that they serve in the old way-tray carts! Food's good to wish there are more options.
My mother, sisters and I, just had a magnificent experience at the downtown location of Open Rice restaurant. What stood out the most, and the reason I was motivated to take the time to write this review, was actually not the amazingly delicious food, (which it totally was!) not the beautiful, cozy atmosphere… but what stood out the most was our two waiters, Phil and Sean!! I will say I’m biased after growing up in a place with many dim sum restaurants. The food is alright compared to other dim sum spots but it is pretty good for Charlotte standards, since Charlotte isn’t known for top tier Asian food. The restaurant itself is very clean and modern. I can see why they can host weddings here. Great music too! Servers do check back every now and then. Some foods like the soup dumplings are a great hit. Everything we had was delicious! The Laksa Malaysian Curry was so rich and amazing. My husband's tofu bulgogi was tasty, and the spicy eggplant had the perfect combo of flavors.
