We just saw Roma the lactation consultant for my daughter and had such a wonderful experience. She spent almost two full hours with us and never made us feel rushed. She was incredibly sweet, patient, and caring, and she helped calm the baby so much. She explained everything she was doing, answered all of our questions, and made sure my daughter felt comfortable and understood what to do before we left. Roma was amazing at helping me and my little one navigate the challenges of a first time mom breastfeeding. She was very responsive and took the time to explain and answer all of my questions. My baby is now full and happy!
Overall my experience was okay but I wish we would’ve focused more on the physical aspects of nursing. I feel like the appointments strayed from actual breastfeeding support to distracting and unnecessarily upsetting conversations. Roma’s tips differed compared to the lactation support I received after my visits with her which were more helpful. It’s hard not to feel frustrated at the wasted time. I cannot recommend Roma enough! As a first-time mom, I struggled a lot with breastfeeding in the beginning. My baby preferred the bottle, and I had to use a nipple shield for every feed. She cried a lot, even with a nipple shield. I couldn’t breastfeed directly for the first three weeks, and it was overwhelming and discouraging. Roma was incredibly supportive throughout the process. Roma is the best! She spent so much time with me and by newborn to get us on track with breastfeeding. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and gave me so much information as a first time mom. I was so glad to have her support and help.
