Just yesterday I inquired about a loan for 15,000 . I was approved for this loan in April 1 month prior as unsecured. My wife and I hesitated as 23.99% seemed a bit high for two people making 89,000 a year combined with credit scores ranging from 710-745 . Subsequently we declined One Mains offer. Today I was told I was approved for only 4000 unsecured and 30000 secured. I asked what changed because my earrings and FICO score remained constant. Yes they approved me for a loan after being offered a loan at 14.5%. Called me and wanted me to come in and get it. I asked the interest rate and it automatically went up to over 18%. I asked why and they say that’s low compared to others. Not being hard up because they prey on people in need with low credit I naturally declined. They bait you with false emails of lower interest then jack it up and tell you they go no lower then 18% after jacking points from your credit score.
