The measure of a company is twofold: the quality of their product, and how firmly they stand behind it. I wrote a review previously that I’m updating, based on the outstanding level of customer service I received from Oneida after experiencing a problem. The key question I’d want to know if I was looking at reviews and trying to decide if it’s worth investing in an Oneida system is, “Would existing customers buy from them again?” That’s easy - yes, in a heartbeat. It’s an ok dust collector but if you want it to be safe it requires an upgrade that they expect you to install. In one of the views it shows a fan blade that caused major damage. They sent out the upgrade and said it was a half hour job, it might be in a showroom but on a ladder in tight quarters it took over 1.5 hours. All they did was add steel so if the blade fly off the motor a steel band keeps its from hurting someone. They also sent out extra bolts to add hold the fan blade onto the motor. Someone is going to get hurt or worse using their dust collectors. They will delete any negative reviews on their site. I was told by them on the phone the exploding units have been a problem. The fan blew through a wall. I have been leaving reviews for 2 years now and they delete them the same day. They sent me all the parts to fix as it was still under warranty and it still doesn’t work correctly. After the explosion the smart boost stopped working. Terrific experience in every aspect of getting a new vac system for my shop. Scott was patient and helpful in sales. The unit shipped right away, was packaged such that it could withstand a tornado. The unit assembled moderately easily. It is way more powerful than the JET system I previously had and is much more quiet. Built with serious metal and components. Huge difference from the high production models.
