Power has been out for almost 24 hours at my residence off east mkinney in denton county it's 88°F outside in the 90s inside food is spoiled and I am worried about my animals they have continuously extended the repair time because of what seems like non existent circumstances such as vegetation there is no vegetation blocking access to the damn lines united came through and trimmed all the damn trees away from the poles a month ago.

Oncor customer service was terrible to deal with regarding a claim. We were out of town for 8 days and our power went out the day we left. Oncor knew our power was out but did not alert us even though we are signed up for text alerts. They took no responsibility even though they opened a work order and never sent anyone out. We had over $2,000 of food spoil and they denied the claim

If you wonder why the Texas grid is such a cluster, this place is why. This year, regardless of the weather, there have been power outages for unknown reasons. The last few months the Lake Cities have had some really hard power surges-as many as 5 to 10 times within an hour or two. It sounds like a plane powering down and back up and although they are generally only a few seconds, it's enough to completely destroy appliances or any other electronics that must be plugged directly into the wall. Our apartment complex has lost power FIVE times in a span of less than two months. That’s five times that groceries have had to be thrown out. Five times we’ve been without A/C in the middle of Texas Summer. Is their staff not properly trained to resolve these kinds of problems?

I know most people complain because they’ve lost power. But I have to give a shout out to Oncor for their responsiveness and their representatives. On July 4, our power went out. We checked the outages and none were reported although our neighbor was also out. I just had to text out to a number and started getting immediate updates. The box in front of our house was replaced that night. I called their customer service today because there are still stakes and caution tape around it.
