On the Rocks is one of my favorite bars in NYC. I love the intimate atmosphere of the bar and the friendly interaction with the bartenders. They have a huge selection of whiskeys and bourbons and to my knowledge one of the only bars that allows you to do a tasting before selecting what you want poured. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and eager to help you find your next pour. Honestly, as a tourist if you enjoy your whiskey. The bare tenders know there stuff. It’s an incredibly friendly atmosphere and I highly recommend it.
a mecca for whiskey connoisseurs and fans alike. had so much fun here, great whiskey, great conversations, owner, bartenders, fellow patrons. a grownups bar for the whiskey otaku to relish in an incredible selection and institutional knowledge of all things whiskey that is astounding and so much fun. i don’t have the depth of palate for it but the conversation and personality was truly awesome.
