As visitors to the area, we were curious to try some local German food. Oma's looked like it fit the bill. We were sadly disappointed. When we arrived there were diners at one other table during peak dinner hours-should have been a clue. The staff was friendly but slow. The food was aweful. Greasy, tough meats (2 different entrees), sweet german potatoe salad, dry potatoe pancakes-even the cakes looked and tasted store bought. So Long, Farewell Oma's used to have some of the best German food in Texas. Unfortunately, last month will be our last visit to Oma's. The food took over forty minutes to arrive and it wasn't worth the wait. In Oma's defense, the server was friendly, apologetic, and attentive.

terrible – We love German food, the whole reason for going to this restaurant. We were seated fairly quickly at a table that still had food particles left from the last diner's. Where we sat for 15 min with our menus, the restaurant was not that busy, there were 3 other tables in various stages of eating. Two other tables were seated while we were there and someone came out to get their drink orders right away. Oma's Haus: Good food Oma's Haus restaurant has pretty good German food. It's not the best, but the restaurant has great atmosphere, good hospitality, and a wonderful German shop where you can buy items, which helps to make this restaurant a good experience.

Great German Food I love stopping at this restaurant when on the way to San Antonio or farther south. They have authentic German food and there is a nice German atmosphere. Service is great and a quaint little shop is attached as well. We always enjoy eating here.

Tourist Trap The locals never go because the food is only mediocre. They somehow attract lots and lots of tourists though, and can handle large groups. Go for the experience, but definitely not the food.
