Olympic Gym is the best deal in town I've been going to olympic off and on for the last 8 years. Twords the end of my sophmore year of high school I started lifting weights and at the end of my Junior year i became a Powerlifter. I made the mistake of going to the local Bally's with a friend and got roped into a 3 year deal and spartan equipment for my needs, after the 3 years was up I went straight to Olympic and got a better rate than Bally's and better equipment to fit my needs I am a member for life.
Member for 25 years! I've been a member of Olympic Gym since 1984. The gym has taken some knocks since Bally's and L.A. Fitness opened in the area. The big difference is it's family owned. And thats also the biggest problem. The Manager is a family member. Although he is a great guy, he has no pastion or drive. He knows nothing about a gym and what the needs are of the members. There is no one that knows anything about running a gym that works there. The Sales Associates know nothing about working out. The Customer Service o... read more
Its just fine.. When first moving to the area we were looking for a gym. I first went to one Ba***ys and some cars salesman looking guy told me we had to sign up for 2 years and pay almost $300... and we just walked. I wasn't looking for a car, I just wanted to work out. We then went to golds, and signed up month to month at a very reasonable rate, and I have been nothing but happy. The equipment is VERY clean (I see people scrubbing it so much it irritates me), well maintained, and the place is never overcrowded. I never ha... read more
Need lower monthly fees I was a member of this gym for many years. I think that the customer service is ok. I do not think that they offer enough aerobic classes. They also need more equipment. It would also be great for them to get a pool! I think there monthly fees are to expensive for what they have to offer! I will go to LA Fitness, or 24 hour fitness before gold again!
Horrible Cleaing I went to this gym with a friend to work out. It was okay for me, but what turned me off was my friend got scabies from this place from one of the pieces of equipment. Ok gym, but horrible cleaning of equipment.
Nice Gym Gold’s Gym is a great gym. The child care is nice and I enjoy the environment there. The gym also is spacious enough to not seem crowded. (Although I do work out at off hours so that probably helps) I like that you can pay month to month rather than having to sign a commitment because there are certain times of the year where my schedule does not allow me to attend as often as I would like therefore, I feel that it would be a waste of money if I had to sign a contract.
